When I read that it's not a competition, the only person you're competing against is yourself, that sounded appealing. That's about my speed, and I certainly couldn't compete against anyone but myself since I've never done one before - the photo is one I found on the internet. But I've always wanted to. They just look so beautiful when done well, with interesting bits of fabric put together with other interesting bits of things. And I've got a whoooooole stash of interesting bits of fabric and interesting bits of things. Hmmmm. Sounds even more appealing.
But I'd already signed up for Take a Stitch Tuesday (TAST). Could I manage both? Then it struck me that crazy quilts are the perfect place for embroidery stitches! I'd been mulling what to do for TAST. A stitch book is a possibility, but didn't really excite me, and a wall hanging would be pointless - there's nowhere to hang it in my house! But I could use a crazy quilt.
So I signed up for it. It starts soon, at the beginning of the new year. I'll find out later if I've filled out the registration properly and been accepted. It just seemed like the perfect partner with TAST. I'm really looking forward to Christmas this year, and don't want to rush the holidays, but I'm also now getting excited for the new year to begin!
